Queensland Aquaculture Strategy consultation

Contribute to the future of aquaculture in Queensland

Queensland's aquaculture industry continues to grow, with annual production now exceeding $263 million.

The development of the Queensland Aquaculture Strategy 2024-2034, and implementation of resulting initiatives, is a $15 million commitment that is part of the Future Fishing Taskforce recommendation to accelerate and adopt innovative best-practice sustainable aquaculture in Queensland.

The strategy aims to enable Queenslanders to make the most of the opportunities that aquaculture offers, while balancing environmental and social values.

We are seeking your feedback on the Queensland Aquaculture Strategy 2024-2034 Consultation Paper (top right), which has been informed by prior industry consultation, including the Aquaculture Strategy Working Group and Queensland Aquaculture Industry Forum (October 2023).

All submissions will be considered during development of the final strategy.
